My Favorite Smoothie – Now in a single serve blend and go size!
A super smooth smoothie loaded with frozen fruits and kale! Tastes delicious! I enjoy this Tropical Green Smoothie at least once a week! I make in the KitchenAid K400 Blender with 16-ounce Personal Blending Jar. I specifically designed this recipe to fit in this jar, but I’m sure you can make in most blenders. If you’d like a larger sized version (2 servings) – check out my recipe here.
This is how I load the jar: frozen fruits in the bottom, then banana, kale, honey and chia seeds – pour in enough water so it’s at least half-way full.
When you screw on the blade attachment and insert in the blender it’ll be inverted and the heavier frozen fruits will press the lightweight kale into the blade.
Replace the blade attachment with the travel lid and you’re good to go!
Tropical Green Smoothie - Single Serve
Equipment
- High Powered Blender
Ingredients
- 5 chunks frozen pineapple - about 1” pieces (80g)
- 5 chunks frozen mango - about 1” pieces (80g)
- 1 small slice crystallized ginger (6g)
- 1/2 fresh banana (58g) not frozen
- 1 cup lacinato kale leaf pieces or baby spinach (60g)
- honey to taste - start with about 1 teaspoon (6g)
- water or other juice, milk, almond milk (you'll need about 1 cup) (8 fl oz)
- 2 teaspoons chia seeds (10g)
Instructions
- If using the KitchenAid K400 Blender with 16-ounce Personal Blending Jar - Load the ingredients in this order: frozen fruits in the bottom, then banana, kale, honey and chia seeds - pour in enough water so it's at least half-way full. When you screw on the blade attachment and insert in the blender it'll be inverted and the heavier frozen fruits will press the lightweight kale into the blade. I use the Smoothie Pre-Set setting and then I usually smooth it out a little more on the highest variable speed - for just a few seconds.
- For any other blending jar: add ingredients with heavier frozen fruits on top. For the water, pour in until it's halfway up the rest of the ingredients. Then, blend to desired consistency.
