Sink the Boat Dip
My version of the viral Boat Dip recipe. I add some extra flavorful ingredients that just may Sink the Boat! Cream cheese and sour cream make up the creamy base, then you can add either taco seasoning or ranch seasoning, Rotel tomatoes, corn, bacon, shredded cheddar and chives! Yum! Equipment
- 1 electric mixer makes it easy to whip up the cream cheese
Ingredients
- 8 ounces cream cheese (I use Philadelphia brand) Room Temperature
- 16 ounces sour cream
- 1 ounce packet ranch or taco seasoning I like both or a combo!
- 10 ounce can Rotel (diced tomatoes and chilies) drained
- 11 ounce can corn drained
- 2 cups shredded cheddar 8-ounce package
- 1/2 cup cooked and chopped bacon about 8 slices
- 2 tablespoons sliced chives or green onions
Serve with your favorite dippers! I like tortilla, potato or corn chips!
Instructions
- In large bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. I find it helpful to use an electric mixer to get out all the lumps. I use my KitchenAid hand or stand mixer with flex edge beater(s).
- Add sour cream and mix until smooth. Add all other ingredients and mix until well combined.
- Refrigerate for several hours or overnight. Can be made 2-3 days in advance.

Recipe looks pretty good- not something I would eat- especially with the ads of toilet cleaners interspersed!
Hi Karol – Ugh I’m sorry about those ads! Thanks for letting me know!
This looks decadent and tasty! I like that it doesn’t call for mayonnaise. Thank you for sharing this recipe with us! Greetings from Louisiana!!
Hope you have a nice weekend!
Can you omit the green chilies
Sure Dan – Just substitute with canned diced tomatoes!
